Wine Tasting

OUR WINE TASTING ADVENTURE!!! We were ready to go and have a good time!!!

It is so nice that we are so close to the wineries in Temecula! Literally, they are in our backyard! We love going out there just for lunch and or just to hang out because it so relaxing and honestly it doesn’t feel like you are in Temecula! Since, we usually only go to one winery at a time – we thought it would be nice to plan our own Wine Tasting Adventure and rent a limo! So, this past Sunday (which by the way was a beautiful day) we sought off to discover some new wineries in town. Our first stop was at LeCereza Winery. Our favorite tasting there was the Peach Champagne...yummie!!! Our next stop was Maurice Carrie - which is actually a brother/sister company of LaCereza. Maurice Carrie sells the most amazing bread - ever!!! They are also known for their Pineapple Wine/Champagne – which does taste really good, sounds strange but really its good! During the weekend they have a little flea market in front of the winery so lots of people are around – just enjoying themselves. Most of us on this adventure would highly recommend their red wines – personally, I never had their reds before only their whites and I really thought most all the reds were smooth and tasty. As always (and in my opinion) you can’t go wrong with their Riesling. From Maurice Carrie, we headed off to Mount Palomar. This winery has a really nice outside and indoor setting for tasting and relaxing. The outside part is especially nice. We just had to stay indoors so Mike would not get sun burnt! (He forgot to put his sunscreen on) So, half of the group tasted outside and the other half inside. Half of the group loved the Sherry port from Mt. Palomar were as the other half preferred the wines called Shorty, Clouds…the other names I just can’t recall. I must say that if wine isn’t your thing, just going there and being in the atmosphere – having a BBQ or having lunch is well worth it. They have a little deli there so you can purchase food. Our last stop was Ponte!!!! This is by far still - OUR FAVORITE!!! We had a very nice lunch and we had the opportunity to enjoy everyone’s company while sitting in our own little Italy in front of the barrel room! Everything on their menu is one of a kind – you definitely feel like you are somewhere else when you are there!!! All and all it was a very good time and we are looking forward to the next trip! If you are interested in attending one of our adventures – just let me know and I will let you know when the next trip will be!
